Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Anchorage, Alaska.

This position is ideal for a cardiovascular technologist with at least 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience and strong experience across Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, vascular procedures, monitoring, and neuro-related procedures.

The technologist will support diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures while working closely with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nurses, radiology staff, and other members of the procedural team.

Candidates must hold either RCIS or ARRT(R) credentials, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Key Responsibilities

·        Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

·        Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields.

·        Scrub and support cardiovascular procedures within scope of practice.

·        Operate imaging and procedural equipment safely and effectively.

·        Assist with coronary and peripheral vascular procedures.

·        Support electrophysiology procedures when assigned.

·        Float to Interventional Radiology or Electrophysiology based on facility needs and demonstrated competency.

·        Monitor patients during procedures and communicate changes in clinical condition promptly.

·        Support hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular procedural workflow.

·        Assist with vascular access equipment, catheters, wires, and other procedural devices.

·        Maintain sterile technique throughout invasive procedures.

·        Participate in procedural time-outs and patient-safety checks.

·        Support urgent and emergency cardiovascular procedures while on call.

·        Follow radiation safety and infection-control requirements.

·        Maintain accurate procedural documentation using Epic and applicable cardiovascular systems.

·        Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Required Experience

Candidates must have:

·        Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab Technologist experience

·        Cardiac catheterization experience

·        Electrophysiology experience

·        Interventional Radiology experience

·        Vascular procedural experience

·        Experience with procedural patient monitoring

·        Neuro-related procedural experience

·        Ability to float within scope to IR and EP

·        Ability to participate in required call coverage

Required Certifications

Candidates must have:

·        Current BLS

·        Current ACLS

·        RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

OR

·        ARRT(R) – Registered Radiologic Technologist

RCIS or ARRT certification is required for this Cath Lab assignment.

Preferred Experience

Strong candidates may also have experience with:

·        Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) procedures

·        Peripheral interventions

·        Venous access procedures

·        Cardiac rhythm interpretation

·        Philips X-ray systems

·        Atherectomy devices

·        Thrombectomy devices

·        Temporary LVAD support

·        Structural or complex cardiovascular procedures

·        High-volume Cath Lab environments

Preferred Systems Experience

Schedule Requirements

·        Day Shift

·        Four 10-hour shifts per week

·        7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

·        40 hours per week

·        Some Saturday shifts may be scheduled as part of the regular four-shift workweek.

Call Requirements

Call participation is required and typically includes:

·        Approximately one call shift per week

·        Every 4th weekend on call

Candidates must be able to respond to urgent or emergency procedural needs while assigned to call.
