POSITION SUMMARY
The Kitting and Materials Handler prints out picking request and pulls and stages parts for delivery for production. They stage kitted parts for production upon request, document, and update Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet. They will operate and maneuver a forklift to complete kits for production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
  1. Print out picking request packet.
  2. Pull and stage parts for delivery for production. Use scanner to update inventory by allocating parts to jobs.
  3. Assist Materials Specialist in delivery of kits for production upon request.
  4. Document and update finished kits in Microsoft Excel and Smartsheets.
  5. Operate and maneuver a forklift as necessary within the warehouse.
  6. Support warehouse staff in fulfilling requests from the production floor or service departments.
  7. Perform cycle counts.
  8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.

Tools to be utilized:
Hand tools, power tools, Sawzall, drill, prybar, bander- metal/cloth, and ratchet straps.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA'S): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma required.
  • 1+ years of previous forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to get a forklift certification required.
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse setting preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite and Windows preferred.

Language:
  • Able to read blueprints and work from spec books.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Math:
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:
Able to perform simple tasks, such as creating an email and using basic commands. Use of Microsoft office suite (excel, word, etc.), and adobe for viewing prints.

Abilities:
  • Able to communicate progress of projects to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
