Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Assistant to manage critical spaceflight hardware and delicate electronic components within a fast-paced environment. This entry-level role provides full on-the-job training to handle essential tasks including receiving stock, maintaining ERP records, and kitting parts for production work orders. It offers an exciting opportunity for an organized, flexible team player to launch their career in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage accurate inventory records using the ERP system, ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stock against purchase orders; log receipts into the database and allocate them to proper storage locations.
- Kit, consolidate, and audit space-flight hardware and electronic components for production work orders in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilize small hand tools to handle and organize small, delicate electronic components safely.
- Monitor stock levels proactively to prevent shortages or overstock situations, and collaborate with departments to forecast future inventory needs.
- Identify obsolete or damaged inventory in accordance with company policies, including proper disposal or reallocation.
- Organize stockrooms and storage areas to ensure materials are safe and accessible; maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.
- Coordinate the procurement and receipt of new stock, ensuring proper documentation, storage, and allocation of inventory.
- Assist with restocking, organizing storage areas, and ensuring materials are in safe, accessible locations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No prior inventory experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holiday, evenings or weekend shifts.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
- Organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
