What is an entry level inventory job?

Entry level inventory jobs are positions in warehouses, retail stores, or distribution centers that focus on tracking, counting, and managing products or supplies. They are designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in inventory management, often offering on-the-job training. Entry level inventory roles are a great way to learn about logistics and supply chain operations, and they can lead to more advanced positions over time.

Asking questions, actively participating in team meetings, and seeking feedback from supervisors can also help new professionals quickly adapt and succeed in this role.

Job description

Responsibilities

Thereโ€™s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep H-E-B stores stocked and ready to serve customers, and our Supply Chain Team innovates and executes to optimize source-to-shelf operations while providing current, reliable supply chain data, analysis, and inventory management across the full product lifecycle. Partners in Forecast & Replenishment must balance having enough retail products available in H-E-B facilities and stores to support customer demand while not overloading our warehouses, truck drivers, and Partners with product thatโ€™s not needed. To do this, we work closely with the category managers in H-E-Bโ€™s Grocery and Drugstore/Beauty/Baby Procurement teams as they plan promotions and new product launches while phasing out other items from H-E-B store shelves. We use advanced forecasting and business intelligence systems to plan for both promoted and unpromoted sales demand, and we work with fulfillment software to optimize and create the most efficient orders from our suppliers based on the forecasted demand. When things donโ€™t go exactly as planned, our Partners dive in to help facilitate better results. Partners in Forecast & Replenishment work closely with external suppliers, freight providers, and several H-E-B teams including Procurement, Shelf Edge, Warehousing, Transportation, Global Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Planning & Analysis, Supply Chain Strategy, and Information Solutions. Our goal every day is to achieve 100.0%
in-stock conditions for the products that we sell to customers while keeping total end-to-end cost as low as possible.

Youโ€™ll perform entry-level Inventory Analyst replenishment duties during periods of short-staffing or high-volume operations, and youโ€™ll support special projects and initiatives as needed.

Once youโ€™re eligible, youโ€™ll become an Owner in the company, so weโ€™re looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. โ€œPartner-ownedโ€ means our most important resourcesโ€”Peopleโ€”drive the innovation, growth, and success that make H-E-B The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company.
