Job description

Position Summary
Lead the Mechanical, Piping, and HVAC engineering discipline for custom motor yacht projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality design, and on-time delivery while managing technical staff and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee mechanical, piping, and HVAC system design, layouts, and machinery arrangements.
  • Utilize ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor for 2D/3D modeling and coordination.
  • Design and review machinery foundations and resilient mounting systems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors on custom equipment and system packages.
  • Ensure compliance with ABS, MCA, Flag State, and USCG requirements.
  • Manage all discipline deliverables, schedules, and weight tracking in coordination with Project Engineers.
  • Incorporate manufacturing constraints and production preferences into designs.
  • Support client-driven design solutions and stay current with industry trends.
  • Lead, resource, and evaluate a team of 6-8 engineers and designers.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (M.S. or equivalent experience preferred).
  • Experience with motor yachts (75-150 ft) and shipyard new construction, repair, or refit.
  • Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and ShipConstructor.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
