PRN Infusion Nurse (RN) Benefits:

Responsibilities 
  • Provide care for infusion patients according to plan of care 
  • Work autonomously in caring for patients and their safety during medication IV infusion. 
  • Observe, assess, and record patient symptoms, reactions, and progress and communicate this to relevant team and family members 
  • Administer treatments and perform therapeutic procedures 
  • Care for peripheral and central lines 
  • Follow sterile procedure while insertion on IV catheters, and wound care and PICC line care 
  • Use IV insertion experience and technique, PICC line and Port-A-Cath access and care, and sterile dressing changes with some wound care involvement. 
  • Some wound care 
  • Responsible for evaluating, verifying, and preparing medications 
  • Coordinate patient care activities and maintain communication with other team members including the agency, pharmacist, and physician. 
  • Educate the patient/family about care needs and disease prevention 
  • Follow appropriate infection control measures 
  • Maintain accurate and timely records 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Requirements 
  • Current unencumbered RN license in the state of Florida 
  • Strong skills when it comes to organization and prioritization 
  • Experience with IV insertion, PICC lines, Port-A-Cath care, and dressing changes 
  • Infusion, wound care and/or assessment experience is required
  • Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicities 
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems that arise in IV therapy 
  • Exceptional standards of patient communication and care 
  • Proficient computer skills in Windows, Excel, and other related software including medical charting 
  • Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure 
  • Maintains continuing education in fields of nursing and infusion therapy 
  • Current CPR certification 
  • Current Florida driver’s license, active insurance, and reliable vehicle 
  • At least 1 year of recent medical surgical, home health, procedural, or critical care experience 
  • Flexibility to complete as many or as few patient visits as needed for the business requirements at that time.
