Job Title: Class A Vac Truck / Hydro Excavation Operator
Position Summary:
Arrow Construction is an Underground Utility Contractor specializing in wet and dry utilities, directional drilling, potholing, patch paving, and concrete restoration work throughout Northern California. We are looking for a Class A Vac Truck Excavator Operator who is responsible for safely operating hydro excavation and vacuum truck equipment to expose underground utilities and perform trenching support. This position requires a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work in various weather and field conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate vacuum excavation trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform hydro excavation around underground utilities without causing damage.
  • Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, DOT records, and job documentation.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Communicate with supervisors, crew members, and customers on site.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement and clean driving record.
  • Previous experience operating vac trucks and hydro excavation equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of underground utility safety practices.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor.
  • Strong attendance and reliability.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.

Preferred Skills:
  • Construction or excavation background.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
