Effective time management, strong communication skills, and resourcefulness are essential for addressing these issues, as is collaborating closely with on-call physicians and other care team members. Many agencies provide remote support and have clear escalation protocols to help RNs handle emergencies efficiently, ensuring patients and families receive compassionate care throughout the weekend.

To thrive as a Weekend Hospice RN, you need a solid background in nursing, end-of-life care, and symptom management, supported by an active RN license and experience in hospice or palliative care.
