Job Overview – Fund Controller (Hedge Fund)

Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000/year + bonus

Location: Westchester County, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)


Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Controller (Hedge Fund) in Westchester County, NY for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, and oversight of complex investment structures within a growing investment management platform. This hybrid role manages core controllership functions including NAV reporting, shadow accounting, and audit coordination across hedge funds and related entities. The position offers broad exposure to fund operations and the opportunity to support new product launches and process improvements.


Responsibilities as the Fund Controller (Hedge Fund):

  • NAV & Performance Reporting: Prepare and review internal performance reports and NAV estimates for investment funds.
  • Shadow Accounting: Perform shadow accounting alongside fund administrators to validate reporting accuracy.
  • Month-End Close: Support close processes by reviewing schedules and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Entity Oversight: Manage accounting and reporting for special purpose entities and related structures.
  • Audit Coordination: Assist with year-end audits and provide supporting documentation to external auditors.
  • Investor Support: Partner with internal teams to address investor inquiries and reporting needs.


Qualifications for the Fund Controller (Hedge Fund):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in hedge fund accounting or controllership roles.
  • Certification: CPA required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with investment fund structures, with exposure to private markets or alternative investments preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with fund accounting systems such as Geneva and administrator platforms required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.
