Job description

If this sounds interesting to you, the Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist role may be the perfect fit for you!
The Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist coordinates the implementation and support of clinical information systems throughout the organization. They will work closely with clinical and information technology team members to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of the goals set forth by management. The Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist will work with managers and supervisors in each department to identify department level workflows. The Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist will work with the MH education team to develop basic orientation training materials for clinical systems and engage in executing this basic training in orientation. The Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist will also assist department managers and supervisors in developing department workflow-based education specific for their solution application as it relates to their department.
What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for nursing workflow design, maintenance and changes as it relates to clinical information systems.
  • Provides day-to-day administration of clinical information systems.
  • Primary contact person between hospital users and software vendors
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to hospital physicians and staff as required.
  • Provides primary and secondary support for any hospital owned software or application systems. Defines systems and special programs required to support various functions of the hospital.
  • Initially troubleshoots EMR system complaints. Works toward a timely resolution to all problems using all available resources including manufacture support organizations, the Internet, or local expertise where needed.
  • Provide for the necessary training, either individual or group, for hospital personnel so they can productively use the technology.
  • Evaluates departmental process by working with department SME/SU's to measuring user's expectations and level satisfaction and make recommendations to management.
  • Recommends and assist department managers with the creation of end-user policies and procedures for applicable software modules. Helps implement plans related to information management affecting various organizational issues.
  • Implement, update and maintain file maintenance as required for optimal user performance.

Qualifications:
  • Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years Cerner/Community Works experience preferred.
  • 5+ years hospital Clinical experience required.
  • State of California Nursing license required.
  • Demonstrated project management, leadership, and communication skills in a team environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work with little supervision in a fast paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Project required.
  • Experience in clinical reporting and reporting tools like Crystal Reports highly desirable.
  • Experience in adult education in the clinical environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.

Job Information:
  • Full-time position, day shifts.
  • Starting wage $57.34 to $69.50 based on experience above qualifications.
