This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Summit Club, set outside of Las Vegas, NV.
Summit Club is seeking a Utility Porter to join the Residential Services Department.
The Utility Porter will be responsible to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Club facilities, including restrooms, comfort stations, residential, and common areas. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Responsibilities
  • Clean Restrooms, Foyer space and Furniture as assigned.
  • Utilize specialty equipment complying with all safety and procedural guidelines.
  • Polish, restore, seal, finish & maintain all flooring, including marble, granite, etc. Complete extraction and spotting of carpets.
  • Complete high & low dusting of ceiling vents, wall decorations, etc.
  • Use various machines such as carpet extractors, scrubbers (ride-on and walk-behind), burnishers, floor machines, lifts, wet/dry vacuums, spotting machines.
  • Operate hand trucks and flatbed carts to move equipment to assigned work areas. • Use proper techniques and equipment when moving heavy furniture to clean the area underneath.
  • Properly use and dispose of chemicals when conducting area cleaning.
  • Conduct bio-hazard clean-up • Must have the ability to move furniture, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Prior experience and proven success in the hospitality or service industry is strongly preferred.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holiday and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to use machinery, such as side by sides, scissor lifts, extractors, etc.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than four (4) hours, and lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must possess the skills to lift, push or pull convention tables, chairs and other convention equipment. • Must present a neat and professional appearance with good hygiene.
  • Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
  • Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
