Golf Shop Assistant @ Bandon Dunes Golf Resort

Lever Organic

Bandon, OR

Full-time

Job description

There's a moment every golfer remembers: walking up to the shop, gear in hand, ready for a round they've thought about for months. As a Golf Shop Assistant at Bandon Dunes, you're the person who makes that moment feel right — checking guests in, helping them find exactly what they need, and sending them off to the first tee with everything in order. It's a role built on good conversation, sharp attention to detail, and genuine care for the guest experience.

About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort:

Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort is also home to two 'Courses with a Mission': Bandon Preserve, an award-winning par-3 course, and Shorty's, which opened in 2024. All net proceeds from both courses fund the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation, supporting communities along the South Coast of Oregon.

Beyond premier golf, guests delight in a variety of dining options at Bandon Dunes’ collection of restaurants. Whether you're looking to enjoy locally-sourced, Pacific-Northwest cuisine accompanied by an award-winning wine list or prefer kicking back in a Scottish-style setting with traditional pub fare and local microbrews, there is something for everyone.

Working at Bandon Dunes is a dream for golf fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals alike. The Bandon Dunes team works together to create trips of a lifetime for our guests. We are passionate stewards of our resort, community, and environment. As an endlessly curious group, we ask questions, share ideas, and always look for a better way. With a hard-working attitude, we help guide our guests through their pure golf experience, immersed in Oregon’s natural beauty and away from the demands of daily life.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Get every guest started right. You'll check golfers in for their tee times, confirm reservations, and pass accurate starting-time information to the shop and outside services teams so the day runs on schedule.
  • Help guests find what they came for. You'll get to know the merchandise inside and out, help guests select and purchase gear, and take care of special orders when someone's looking for something specific.
  • Keep the transactions accurate. You'll process payments and credit cards and record sales for merchandise, greens fees, and cart or club rentals correctly the first time.
  • Be a helpful voice, on the phone and in person. You'll answer questions about tee times, tournaments, and resort happenings, and keep a pleasant, professional tone whether you're at the counter or on the phone scheduling a round.
  • Keep the shop looking sharp. You'll pack, unpack, and arrange inventory so displays stay full, organized, and inviting, and you'll pitch in on the month-end physical inventory.
  • Work alongside the golf professionals. You'll support the Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Golf Professional in the daily rhythm of the shop, and bring a steady, professional presence to the team.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
  • You've spent time in golf, retail, or customer service. A year of experience in a golf shop or similar retail environment is a plus, but we're just as interested in your attitude and willingness to learn.
  • You genuinely enjoy taking care of people. A positive attitude and professional manner go a long way here, especially when the shop is busy and everyone wants your attention at once.
  • You communicate clearly. Whether it's talking through a merchandise question or relaying tee time details to the team, you get the message across the first time.
  • You can juggle a few things at once. Between check-ins, sales, and phone calls, you'll stay organized and level-headed without much need for hand-holding.
  • You're flexible with your schedule. This role includes nights, weekends, and holidays — the times golfers most want to play.
A Few Things to Know:
  • Your schedule will include weekends and holidays. Work hours may fall on days and evenings throughout the week, since that's when the course is busiest.
  • You'll spend time both inside and outside. Most of the role is in the golf shop, with regular trips outside to check in guests and support outside services — so expect some exposure to weather, and the occasional stray golf ball.
  • There's a physical side to the job. You'll be on your feet — standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for stretches of up to five hours — and lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance, with 20–30 lbs being a regular part of the day.
  • A background check is part of our hiring process. This is standard for the role and completed before your first day.
Perks and Benefits For Full Time Employees:
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy a well-rounded benefits package that covers your health, wellness, and financial future.
  • Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to relax and recharge with our PTO plan.
  • Free Golf Privileges: Tee off at some of the most iconic courses in the world with complimentary golf access.
  • Quarterly Incentives: When our team meets resort-wide performance goals, we get rewarded.
  • Complimentary Lunch: Stay energized with a complimentary lunch in our Staff Cafe during your shift.
  • Resort Discounts: Save on dining and merchandise throughout the resort.
  • Supportive Work Environment: Be part of a team that supports your growth and success, with opportunities to thrive in a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Career Growth: Take advantage of continuous training and development opportunities to advance your career.

If you like the idea of being the friendly, organized presence that keeps a golf shop running smoothly — and you want to do it at one of the top public golf destinations in the country — we'd like to hear from you. This role reports to our Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Golf Professional and puts you right at the center of the guest experience, from check-in to checkout.

At Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, we are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
