Weekend Gig information

What is a weekend gig?

A Weekend Gig job is a temporary or part-time job typically scheduled on weekends. These jobs are ideal for students, working professionals seeking extra income, or anyone looking for flexible work. Roles can vary widely, including retail, hospitality, event staffing, or freelance work. Weekend gigs offer flexibility and can sometimes lead to long-term opportunities.

What kind of work schedule can I expect in a weekend gig position?

Weekend Gig positions typically require availability on Saturdays and Sundays, with shifts that may range from early morning to late evening depending on the employer and industry. Some roles offer set hours, while others may have more flexible or on-call scheduling. It’s common to work independently or as part of a small, dynamic team, and hours can vary based on business needs or seasonal demand. This flexibility makes the role ideal for those seeking supplemental income, but it’s important to clarify your expected schedule during the hiring process to ensure it fits your availability.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a weekend gig position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Weekend Gig, you generally need reliability, time management skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to varying job tasks, with previous relevant experience often being beneficial. Depending on the type of gig, familiarity with point-of-sale systems, cleaning equipment, or delivery apps may be required, though formal certifications are rarely necessary. Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills help you stand out, as you may interact with diverse clients or work alongside other part-time staff. These skills and qualities are crucial because weekend roles often require flexibility, efficiency, and the ability to handle busy periods with professionalism.

Job description

Perhaps you’re a fresh graduate looking for their first real gig, and are driven to make a difference in people’s lives. Maybe you’ve been in the workforce for a while and are looking for a career shift. Either way, you’re interested to work in an environment filled with opportunity and excitement, where you can make a lasting impact on a human level.
If the above sounds like you, we have a job opportunity for you.
We’re CannaConnect ( , one of Canada’s leading medical cannabis clinics, focusing specifically on military veterans, RCMP and First Responders. We are passionate about connecting individuals suffering from medical conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain with a trusted network of physicians and licensed cannabis producers. Our mission is to provide personalized care for individuals looking to improve their quality of life by educating them how to effectively use medical cannabis, planting the seeds for a more natural path to health and wellness.
With this in mind, we’re looking for a Clinic Manager to support our mission by providing tailored education and patient support services to both new and existing patients at our wellness lounge in Cloverdale, Surrey BC.

Full-Time - Clinic Manager
Here at CannaConnect, we specialized in providing a safe and caring environment for our veteran clientele. Our clinics offer a unique cross between medical clinic and wellness lounge, allowing our patients to feel taken care of from a professional standpoint, while also enjoying an environment that is fun and inviting. As a Clinic Manager you will be a key contributor to all things related to patient care, as well as being host/facilitator to anything going on in our wellness lounge. You will work closely with our Veteran Leads in the clinic and with programming. You’ll be responsible for onboarding new patients, arranging their appointments with physicians, performing follow up calls and updating their files when necessary. You’ll also provide our clients with the information and education they need to handle medical cannabis safely and effectively. In addition to the patient-related services, you will also be responsible for helping to organize and run social events in our wellness lounge. This may include the occasional weekend or evening event. Some of your time will also be spent helping the team in head office.
This will be a great opportunity if you are:
* Personable: not only do you love to talk, you love to connect with people. You have a knack for drawing people’s attention and can make conversations with anybody you encounter.
* Detail Oriented: you don’t like making little mistakes, and make sure that client files are accurate and free of any oversights.
* Driven: organizational and personal success is always on your mind: it’s what fuels you to strive for greater achievement.

Working at CannaConnect
Since we deal with medical cannabis, you probably think that we’re a relaxed, easy-going bunch working in a fun atmosphere. You’d be correct! Not only do we look for capable candidates to carry out our mission, we look for people who can be a good fit for us.
We hold our clients’ feedback highly, and the same goes towards our staff. Speak up if you have an idea that can make us better. We’re in a start-up industry – and we’ve been around for most of it – and as it matures, there will be opportunities to grow and expand our operations, you could play a pivotal part in that.
We believe in making a difference in people’s lives. We invite all like-minded applicants to join us on this journey.
Compensation and Qualifications
This is a full-time onsite position at B St, Surrey BC V3S 4J7. This is position will require 40 hours of work, with some evenings and weekends required.
