What is a weekend gig?

A Weekend Gig job is a temporary or part-time job typically scheduled on weekends. These jobs are ideal for students, working professionals seeking extra income, or anyone looking for flexible work. Roles can vary widely, including retail, hospitality, event staffing, or freelance work. Weekend gigs offer flexibility and can sometimes lead to long-term opportunities.

What kind of work schedule can I expect in a weekend gig position?

Weekend Gig positions typically require availability on Saturdays and Sundays, with shifts that may range from early morning to late evening depending on the employer and industry. Some roles offer set hours, while others may have more flexible or on-call scheduling. It’s common to work independently or as part of a small, dynamic team, and hours can vary based on business needs or seasonal demand. This flexibility makes the role ideal for those seeking supplemental income, but it’s important to clarify your expected schedule during the hiring process to ensure it fits your availability.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a weekend gig position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Weekend Gig, you generally need reliability, time management skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to varying job tasks, with previous relevant experience often being beneficial. Depending on the type of gig, familiarity with point-of-sale systems, cleaning equipment, or delivery apps may be required, though formal certifications are rarely necessary. Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills help you stand out, as you may interact with diverse clients or work alongside other part-time staff. About Great Clips

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Great Clips, Inc. was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota by founders David Rubenzer and Steve Lemmon in 1982, a time when most people received haircuts in one of three ways: in full-service hair salons, from barbershops or at home. As a stylist and businessman, David could see that the industry was changing. Customers were looking for a hair salon service that could fit their busy lifestyles and desire for value. To be part of that change – rather than find themselves competing with it – David and Steve developed the then-radical concept of a walk-in haircare salon with weekend and evening hours, offering customers a select list of services, and providing benefits for stylists. After the founders opened several successful hair salons, Ray Barton joined David and Steve as an owner in March 1983. With Ray's help and expertise in franchising, the trio set about growing the Great Clips hair salon brand. That success continues through today.
