Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000 students each year. MULTIMEDIA SPECIALIST - EVENT PRODUCTION - A/V TECHNICIAN HV-NTP-MMS F26
Part Time

These are part-time positions (freelance) associated with the Multimedia and Video Services Department. We are creating a registry of qualified technicians and video production specialists to be deployed as needed for day/evening assignment. A vacant position may not currently exist.

Work areas needed to fill:

Multimedia equipment set-up, operation

Audio Mixing & Engineering

Video Streaming Support Video Cameras (remote and studios)

Video Production (studio and field production)

Graphics and presentation playback (PowerPoint, lower thirds, and motion graphics)

Please Note: To be considered an applicant for this position, you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in multimedia production or related discipline with practical experience while in school (OR) Associate's Degree in multimedia production or related discipline and two years of experience in multimedia production broadcast television or related field (OR) two years of training in multimedia production, corporate event audio and video or broadcast television production from an accredited institution and experience stated above (OR) relevant experience will be accepted on a one-to-one basis as a substitute for required education.

Ability to operate various production, transmission, and multimedia equipment, in the following environments: television studio(s), theatre(s) and/or auditorium(s), distance learning classroom(s), remote or live location(s), or other multimedia/video production related areas.

Must have experience with additional collaborative and design software(s) such as: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook.
Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects experience highly valued.

Additional experience using industry standard streaming and video post-production software such as: Blackmagic Design live production switchers, VMix, OBS, VLC media Player.
Experience with a variety of professional camera systems, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting
Familiarity with Audio mixing consoles a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills under tight live-event timelines.
Must be able to display and maintain a professional demeanor while working with high profile clients.
May Involve lifting of heavy equipment 50lbs or more


Job Summary: We are seeking experienced, tech-savvy Multimedia Freelancers to support university events, academic conferences, commencement ceremonies, and hybrid campus presentations.
(Events include Press Conferences, Key Note Speakers, Multi Microphone Panel Discussions and Live Performances.)

This role specifically requires deep technical expertise in computer skills and operation of audio and video equipment.

Responsibilities:
* Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment as needed
(i.e. Projectors ,PA systems, speakers, amplifiers, mics and related audio and video equipment)
* Operate graphics and presentation systems during live events
* Manage video playback and ensure smooth media execution.
* Support video screen displays and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
* Collaborate with the production team to deliver seamless event presentations.
* Access and manage media assets stored in cloud-based storage platforms for live event playback and production.
* Ability to independently troubleshoot hardware and software.

The hourly rate for these part-time positions is $35.00.

***Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.***
