Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry
Schedule
- Shift: Nights 18:45-07:15
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
Assignment Details
- Contract length: 13-20 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
- Preferred certification: ACLS
- Experience with Epic documentation preferred
- Telemetry: dysrhythmia interpretation/management; remote monitoring experience preferred
- Skills in IV initiation/maintenance and central line care preferred
- Knowledge of post-operative care and management of common diagnoses
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in a telemetry unit.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and respond to emergencies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Assist in the management of specific patient needs such as IVs, tubes, and drains.
Compliance / Notes
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Pre-start modules required (non-billable; approx. 8-10 hours for acute care)
- Must be able to work major holidays as specified
