Job description

The Flight Communications Specialist is the primary point of contact for all crew members. As the primary contact, the Flight Communications Specialist is responsible for relaying all pertinent information to the proper departments as well as advising crew members of any changes to the flight schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide timely resolution to crew member phone calls and emails.
  • Brief crew members on outstanding assignments as required.
  • Monitor overnight weather where Flexjet aircraft remain overnight and ensure proper services are arranged.
  • Monitor Flexjet trips and FBO hours of operation to ensure necessary services are available.
  • Review post flight information for accuracy.
  • Work closely with all departments in the operation to facilitate Company mission and assist crew members on rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; 1-3 years of related experience preferably in an aviation/logistics environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of FARs regarding Part 91, 121, or 135 airline operations is preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the aptitude to learn customized company software programs.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Candidate should work well in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to the changing needs of the business.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work productively, independently, or within a team.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and problem resolution skills are required.
  • Successful candidate will maintain a high level of professionalism while multi-tasking various real time situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with core job competencies including but not limited to also weather & ATC.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to self-motivate, handle multiple tasks, meet established targets.
  • Must be results oriented and able to obtain a high level of familiarity quickly.
  • Strong personal and work ethics along with a high level of integrity
  • Must have the ability to work quickly, calmly, and under pressure while also contributing to team efforts.
  • Our operation is 365/24/7 and candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as schedule dictates. This position is fully onsite and requires in-person attendance at our Global Command Center.
