What you will do

Assists the responsible person in performing the required duties for completion of install related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems. Observes the actions of the responsible person(s) and applies as directed.

How you will do it

  • Helping with installation of electronic systems, including start up through final testing. Follow verbal and written instruction, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell work.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to hard hats and work boots. May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Daily submission of required paperwork.

What we look for

Required

  • 1 year of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Construction experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

Preferred

  • Experience in an electrical trade preferred.
  • Low voltage experience is a plus.
  • NICET certification is a plus
  • VESDA certification is a plus
