Title and Summary
Director, Finance Business Partner
Overview
The Director, Finance Business Partner, U.S. Customer Planning will support the U.S. Customer Planning team within North America Markets Finance, partnering closely with the Digital Players, Fintech & Enablers account management team. This role is responsible for driving financial planning, forecasting, business performance management, deal economics, and strategic decision support to enable sustainable and profitable growth. The position reports to the Vice President, Finance Business Partner for U.S. Customer Planning within North America Markets Finance.
Role
• Lead the customer planning process and related activities in partnership with the account management team.
• Manage and coordinate budgeting, forecasting, planning, and performance monitoring for the business lead and broader account team.
• Develop and deliver financial reporting across business activity, revenue streams, budget utilization, cost allocations, risks, opportunities, and key performance drivers.
• Manage financial inputs for objective setting, Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) targeting, and compensation measurement as part of the annual business planning process.
• Support business development proposals by reviewing deal economics, business cases, and financial models to promote sustainable and profitable growth.
• Provide training and consultation to account teams on business case development, financial modeling, and related best practices.
• Monitor performance results for active business agreements, including periodic audits, incentive variance analysis, and tracking against contractual and strategic commitments.
• Participate in finalizing customer business agreements, including contract review, financial input, and contract redline support as needed.
• Engage directly with customers when required to support financial discussions, deal review, and business planning activities.
• Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting, including plan performance, quarterly business reviews, revenue analysis, pending deal updates, and progress against key joint and strategic initiatives.
• Provide measurements, analytics, and reporting to NAM Finance, Account Management, and other Mastercard stakeholders as appropriate.
• Lead, coach, and develop high-performing employees by setting clear goals, supporting career development, conducting talent planning, and completing performance appraisals.
All About You
• Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical discipline; MBA preferred.
• Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, competitive landscape, and industry trends, with emphasis on digital players, fintechs, and enablers.
• Demonstrated financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into practical business insights.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and make informed recommendations with limited or evolving data.
• Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences.
• Comfortable interacting with all levels of management and influencing across Finance, Account Management, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate across different cultures, business models, and stakeholder groups.

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Contra-Revenue System (CRS), Enterprise Reporting, Hyperion, and Oracle preferred.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges
Purchase, New York: $163,000 - $269,000 USD
