Job description

At Mother’s we take pride in organization, quality, and efficiency. As a Receiver, you will manage all aspects of the receiving process paperwork, product inspection, and proper logging of incoming inventory. Your work helps maximize sales potential by assuring that every product entering the store is accurately verified against packing slips, quality-checked, and, when required, temperature-checked prior to stocking.

Hourly Pay: $17.00–$22.00 hourly

What You’ll Do

  • Receive, inspect, and scan shipments from vendors; confirm quantities and condition against packing slips

  • Unload pallets, open receiving dock, and prepare items for processing using dollies, carts, or pallet jacks

  • Enter incoming products into the system and ensure accurate documentation and inventory records

  • Identify perishable items, check temperature/quality as appropriate, and alert relevant departments for stocking to maintain the cold chain

  • Handle shipments from carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.) as needed scan, sort, and distribute to departments

  • Clearly note and report damaged or missing items on invoices, coordinate with Data Entry and Department Managers regarding discrepancies

  • Stamp, sign, and file all invoices and paperwork properly

  • Follow all written receiving procedures carefully; maintain a clean, safe workspace

What You Bring

Required: 

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)

  • Basic computer literacy ability to use warehouse/inventory systems, scanners, and do simple data entry

  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for counting, verifying quantities, and record-keeping

  • English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking

  • Experience handling UPC-coded products, prior warehouse or retail receiving experience

  • Familiarity with pallet jacks or forklifts, or willingness to learn

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and move products up to 50 lbs., frequently (often over 100 times per shift)

  • Use dollies, carts, and electric pallet jacks; move items from floor to up to 60” high

  • Carry items up to 25 ft, push/pull carts or dollies

  • Full-time role with open availability; may include early mornings, weekends, or varied shifts
