Job description

Engineering Technician (3rd Shift)

Location: TWB, a Worthington Steel Company

Shift: Sunday through Thursday | 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Training: Initial training will take place on day shift for approximately 2 to 3 months.

Compensation: $55,000 to $62,000 annually, plus quarterly profit sharing and a comprehensive benefits package.

What You'll Do

As a 3rd Shift Engineering Technician, you'll help maximize equipment reliability, improve production efficiency, and support continuous improvement throughout our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot critical machine breakdowns using root cause analysis.
  • Make minor modifications to existing Fanuc robot programming and troubleshooting inline sensors and quality systems.
  • Assist with the installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Recommend and implement equipment enhancements that improve safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Mentor and support Maintenance Technicians through technical guidance and training.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors performing electrical and mechanical repairs or projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement and equipment upgrade projects.
  • Assist with the design, procurement, testing, and documentation of new equipment and processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and order maintenance supplies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding low voltage circuits (24v).
  • Understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe electrical work practices.
