Job description

Location: United States (nationwide travel; not a remote role)

Duration: 6 months

Event Technology Support Specialist (100% Travel)

Employment type: Full-time, client-facing field role with variable schedule, including evenings/weekends/holidays during events

Role summary

We have a few openings on our established Event Support and Field Tech team. The primary responsibility is supporting the client offsite events across the U.S. (typically 3โ€“5 days per event). Work includes pre-event readiness, onsite setup/testing, live-event support, and teardown, in close coordination with client event coordinators and venue/hotel technology/AV teams. When not on events, the role provides short-term office backfill (usually 1โ€“2 weeks) at client offices, covering the local walk-in IT support window and site tech duties. This is a hands-on, highly customer-facing role in fast-paced environments, requiring extensive travel.

ย Primary responsibilities: Offsite events (3โ€“5 days per event; 100% travel)

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Pre-event planning and readiness

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Review event requirements, room lists and run-of-show; confirm inventory and shipping.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Conduct or validate site surveys; confirm network needs (SSID/VLAN, DHCP/DNS, bandwidth).

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate with client event coordinators and hotel/venue technology and AV teams.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepare event kits, spares, labels, and documentation.

ย Onsite setup and testing

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Install and test printers (badge/label/laser), drivers, and queues.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Test wired and Wiโ€‘Fi connectivity; validate DHCP/DNS; basic switch-port checks; document IP schemes.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Validate and support AV/conferencing (mics, projectors, room systems; Teams/Zoom/Webex).

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Set up support desk/walk-up bar; stage and label equipment; complete readiness checklists.

ย Live-event support

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide rapid-response end-user support for connectivity, printing, and AV issues.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Monitor network/print health; manage spares and swaps; update ticketing and status.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Partner with venue AV to resolve audio/visual issues; support presenters and breakout rooms.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Communicate status and escalations to event coordinators and stakeholders.

ย Teardown and post-event

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Decommission, inventory, pack, and arrange return shipments.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Capture lessons learned, incident summaries, and configuration notes.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate RMA/repairs and asset updates.

Secondary responsibilities: Office backfill (typically 1โ€“2 weeks)

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Staff the local IT walk-in window; deliver in-person customer support.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Troubleshoot Windows/macOS endpoints, printers, mobile devices, and common apps (M365/Teams).

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Perform hardware replacements (laptops, docks, peripherals) and basic imaging/setup.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Support conference rooms and AV (Teams/Zoom rooms, projectors, codecs).

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย  Manage ticket queue (e.g., ServiceNow): triage, resolve, document, and close within SLAs.
