    Position Summary:

    Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Business Application / ERP Administrator to serve as the technical owner of our Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains environment and related business application integrations. This role supports key business systems across finance, supply chain, operations, IT, and external partner platforms. In this position, you will help ensure the reliability, security, integrity, and compliance of ERP data and processes. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to translate business needs into stable, auditable, and well-controlled system solutions.

    JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Maintain Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains security, including user access, permissions, audits, quotas, and security controls
    • Apply sound judgment and knowledge of IT, accounting, audit, and data security standards to protect system integrity and support business workflow needs
    • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot workflows, stored procedures, scheduled reports, and real-time reports
    • Maintain SQL Server environments, including testing and applying patches, upgrades, and new releases in a timely manner
    • Provide user support and training for business application systems
    • Support the research, beta testing, implementation, installation, and upgrade of system enhancements and third-party applications
    • Perform and validate master data updates, including item attributes, tariff/HTS fields, credit limits, pricing data, and related business data
    • Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies, system defects, reporting issues, and integration errors
    • Support SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, and future reporting platforms, including updates, code changes, report publishing, validation, and user support
    • Develop and maintain documentation for end-user processes and IT system management procedures
    • Maintain database systems in accordance with industry standards for data integrity, data security, and compliance
    • Observe user processes, respond to user needs, and proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvement
    • Participate in company-wide business process reviews to support smoother operations, automation opportunities, and improved technology solutions

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
    • At least 5 years of experience administering, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
    • Strong experience with SQL, including T-SQL
    • Experience supporting business applications used in finance, procurement, materials management, supply chain, or related business areas
    • Ability to investigate system issues, compare multiple courses of action, and recommend practical solutions that support business needs
    • Experience creating, maintaining, or troubleshooting workflows, stored procedures, reports, and data processes
    • Experience supporting Citrix environments and published database applications is preferred
    • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple departments
    • Experience supporting mobile business applications or ERP modernization projects is a plus
    Compensation & Benefits:

    This full-time, exempt position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 paid scheduled holidays and 3 paid floating holidays (Residents of California and Puerto Rico will receive state-mandated sick leave instead of personal days). After one year of employment, you will also be eligible for a generous short-term disability program with the company covering 100% of monthly premiums.

    The starting salary range for this role is $97,000 to $100,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Additional variable compensation may include a discretionary year-end bonus based on overall company performance.
