Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with EPIC and Level I Trauma experience for a 13-week assignment at a teaching hospital.

Details
  • Work in the Operating Room department of a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Primarily adult patient population
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day/Evening rotating shifts (7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p) or straight evenings, 3x12-hour schedules
  • Weekend and weeknight call required in 8-hour blocks (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a)
  • Up to 4 weeknight calls and 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • No floating required
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active MI RN license required in-hand at time of consideration (compact license not accepted)
  • Current BLS and CAC certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
  • General OR and Trauma experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • 2 supervisory references required (charge RN references not accepted)
Additional Information
  • Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, trauma, plastics, bariatrics, and robotics
  • Experience with robotic surgical systems (Da Vinci, Mako) and specialized equipment such as electrosurgical units and the Hana Table
  • Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions accepted (allergy-free option available for those with allergies)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former Michigan Medicine (University of Michigan/Sparrow Hospital) employees cannot apply if employed within the last 12 months
  • Permanent staff may return as travelers after 1 year
  • No time off requests permitted during the first week of the contract
  • Traveler pairs are not accepted
  • No pre-hire training modules required; modules completed onsite during orientation
