Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is seeking motivated Automotive Vehicle Build Technicians to join our team supporting a leading Automotive Tier 1 Supplier in Livonia.
This is not your typical repair shop or production line position. You'll work in a fast-paced prototype environment, helping build and modify next-generation vehicles, including cutting-edge autonomous (self-driving) semi-trucks and advanced automotive technologies. If you enjoy hands-on work and want to gain valuable experience with the future of the automotive industry, this is the opportunity for you.
What You'll Do

  • Modify and assemble prototype vehicles using hand and power tools
  • Remove and reinstall vehicle interiors, including seats, dashboards, trim panels, and sleeper cab components
  • Install wire harnesses, sensors, and advanced electronic control units
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting and component installation
  • Perform fabrication work as needed to support prototype vehicle builds
  • Help build and modify autonomous (self-driving) semi-trucks and other advanced vehicle platforms
  • Perform basic diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance
  • Follow engineering instructions and work procedures while maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Shift Schedule:
  • AM Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Monday – Friday)
  • PM Night Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Monday – Friday)
  • Overtime available as needed, including weekends

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as an Oil amp; Lube Technician, Automotive Technician, Mechanic, or in a related automotive role
  • Experience in performing oil changes, fluid services, and small vehicle repairs
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including automotive wiring or electrical components

  • Ability to perform mechanical and electrical work on vehicles
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed
Why Join PDW?
  • Work on exciting prototype and pre-production vehicles—not repetitive production work
  • Gain hands-on experience with autonomous, electric, and next-generation vehicle technology
  • No ASE certifications required
  • Overtime opportunities available when needed
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance after 60 days
  • Opportunity to develop valuable skills while working alongside experienced automotive professionals
