Job description

Design, develop, and evaluate a product, assembly, system, or process from concept through production stage, and make modifications as needed.
Essential Functions:
โ€ข Research, develop, and evaluate design concepts including materials, specifications, equipment, or machines.
โ€ข Perform or facilitate installation/testing related to the product, system, or process.
โ€ข Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing products or processes.
โ€ข Create and update documentation for designs, and all phases of the project.
โ€ข Work with external customers, distributors, vendors, or suppliers to initiate new designs and solve problems.
โ€ข Coordinate engineering efforts and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.
โ€ข Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
โ€ข May provide or assist with training needs as it relates to new or existing products or processes.
โ€ข May assist with quote or request for quote process.
โ€ข Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
โ€ข May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
โ€ข Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division's quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
Education and Experience: Entry level or early career engineer with Bachelors' degree or Master's degree in engineering field - Or equivalent combination of education
and experience. Minimum of an internship in related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
โ€ข Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in field related to position, as identified by department leadership.
โ€ข Ability to apply design theory and methodology.
โ€ข High level of customer service skills.
โ€ข Knowledge of manufacturing techniques is preferred.
โ€ข Well-developed problem analysis and problem solving techniques.
โ€ข Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
โ€ข Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision.
โ€ข Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
โ€ข Travel may be necessary, based on position.
