Emergency Medical Technician Responsibilities:

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency medical calls.
  • Assess, treat, and stabilize patients at the scene and en route to medical facilities.
  • Utilize proper techniques, medical equipment, and protocols for patient care.
  • Perform occupational health services including:
    • Drug screenings
  • Hearing and fit tests
  • Physicals and wellness checks
  • Accurately document patient information, care provided, and incident details.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure the ambulance or emergency response unit is clean, stocked, and operational.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely and in compliance with state and company regulations.
  • Collaborate professionally with law enforcement, fire personnel, and hospital staff.
  • Deliver services in a courteous, compassionate, and respectful manner.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid EMT certification/license in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Minimum of1 year of EMT experiencein a high-volume emergency care or transport setting preferred.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull50 pounds or more.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience operating within OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards.
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
