Job description

Security Specialist

The Security Division's mission is to provide innovative security solutions that protect our people and organization from both external and insider threats, while fostering a resilient, forward-thinking security environment.

Key requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance

Major duties:

  • Provide direct support on complex security investigations.
  • Receive, review, and critically analyze incoming security concerns.
  • Initiate indices checks, arrest checks, and other checks in order to obtain the most complete identifying information on subjects being investigated.
  • Collaborate internally and externally with partners to gather and share pertinent information to move investigations through the background process.
  • Monitor security systems and respond to various types of alarms appropriately.
  • Participate in security compliance reviews, surveys and inspections of spaces.

Specialized experience (SE) GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience analyzing and testing a variety of established techniques and methods to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations.
  • Experience drafting security policies and ensuring logical conclusions without compromise of classified information or operations.
  • Experience reviewing, analyzing, and resolving security issues to protect personnel, data, and facilities.
  • Experience demonstrating knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Experience writing comprehensive reports to internal and external organizations.

Desired skills are:

  • Microsoft Products including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Forms, and SharePoint
  • Personnel, physical, information, and industrial security experience
  • Experience working in an emergency call center and monitoring security systems
  • Salary: $93,216.00 - $121,183.00
