Job Title: Machine Operator

Pay: $20.29 (+$1 shift differential for 2nd shift)

Location: Franklin, TN

2nd Shift   2:30pm-11:00pm

Summary

Operator will initiate operations in accordance with customer requirements and monitor performance to optimize production processes. Operator will be expected to cross-train and learn multiple positions to help support the department as needed.


Essential functions

  • Monitoring area machine process closely, making real-time adjustments to equipment settings to maintain product quality and output efficiency
  • Conducting quality checks on products being produced to ensure specifications and company standards are met.
  • Performing general housekeeping in your work area and other jobs as assigned by the supervisor/lead
  • Complying with all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment and minimize workplace hazards
  • Ensuring area machines are working properly and safely at the start of each shift
  • Assisting and training new team members on the operation process and equipment usage


Competencies

  • Detail oriented with a focus on producing high-quality output in a timely and efficient manner
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand and operate complex machinery
  • Ability to use measuring and gauging instruments including but not limited to calipers, rulers, temperature and ring gages


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Employee could be exposed to seasonal weather conditions with climates ranging from 50 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.


Physical demands

  • Must have physical stamina to work in industrial production setting with repetitive movement up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, standing pushing, pulling, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Continuous periods of walking and standing
  • Must be able to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 50lbs unassisted, and perform physical tasks associated with the role


Required education and experience

  • GED/High School Diploma
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other team members
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and production specifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and operate complex machinery
  • Capable of using temperature gages, calipers, and rulers
  • SAP experience preferred
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for actions
  • Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred but not required
  • Strong math skills
  • Basic computer skills for accessing SAP and locating blueprints
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work well with diverse personalities
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required
