Job description

Under direct supervision of the sewing machine operator foreman and/or manager, operates one or more automated equipment to create military name tapes, plastic tags and leather patches. Inspects for quality and accuracy.

Job Qualifications

Completion of high school or the equivalent. Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a nine months for nine months basis. One year of general work experience preferably in assembly line type work.

If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.

Major Duties

Operates embroidery machine, plastic engraving machine, pinserter machine and leather stamping machinery.
Inspects finished product to ensure accuracy, trims excess thread/tape, cuts engraves plastic, sets pins, stamps and sew.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment to include thread and needle replacement, cleaning, oiling, engraving depths, heat adjustments and minor repairs.
Prepares finished product for mailing to requester. Prepares envelopes and boxes for mailing.
Performs general housekeeping tasks to ensure proper standards of cleanliness and safety of assigned work area.
Assists in clerical duties related to order, receipt, production, distribution of raw materials and finished product. May be required to operate VDT and printer for receiving orders. Operates Federal Express computer and stamp machine for mailing of orders.
Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of the Military Star credit card to customers in order to drive sales growth and increase customer loyalty.
Performs related duties as assigned.
