Extrusion / Compounding Operators shall be responsible for the operation of every available line related to bio-plastics production. They will work in conjunction with production assistants when necessary to finish goods in a timely manner, as well as fulfill other tasks assigned by the management team.


General responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

Performs start-up and shutdown of operations as needed. Monitors gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Adds or mixes ingredients for processing. Cleans and maintains equipment, using hand tools. Observes production or monitors equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Operates or tends machines to mix or blend any of a wide variety of materials, such as color pigments. Records operational or production data on specified forms. Tends accessory equipment, such as pumps, to move materials or ingredients through production processes. Transfers materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using moving equipment or hand tools. Maintains equipment in clean, sanitary condition. Performs equipment clean-outs and special sanitation as required. Performs minor equipment adjustments, Preventive Maintenance, and repairs as directed. Sets or adjusts machine settings for proper operations, time, speed, color, temperature, and any other variable. Monitors compounding equipment and perform troubleshooting, while following policies and procedures regarding equipment, components, and finished goods. Accurately documents downtime, batch records and reconciliation forms. Reports decisions, problems, and questions to management in a timely manner.
