Job description

Assists with the development of various documentation products in support of assigned program/project system. Collaborates with appropriate team members to develop required documentation materials (end-user manuals, technical documents, graphics, etc.). Ensures all developed materials adhere to established styles and standards.

  • Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop technically-accurate documentation products for system end-users.

  • Understands and applies overarching policy requirements to ensure that all documentation products comply with these requirements.

  • Uses graphics (photographs, drawings, diagrams, etc.) that increase the end users' understanding of the Customer/program system.

  • Translates development requirements into required documentation changes.

  • Proofs documentation to detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, syntax, and established styles and standards.

  • Understands and applies as necessary all relevant styles and standards for developing documentation materials.

  • Assists in peer reviews of all documentation materials created by other team members.

  • Analyzes requirements of project to determine scope of work and required documentation products.

  • Supports and adheres to CMMI level 3 standards and processes as it relates to technical documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 2+ years of working with technical documentation with experience in creating end-user documentation

  • CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS A CURRENT SECRET CLEARANCE

Other Job Specific Skills

  • Excellent understanding of English grammar.

  • Knowledge of desktop publication tools from Adobe and Microsoft.

  • Strong editing skills.

  • Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to understand and articulate technical requirements and translate their requirements into technical documentation.

  • Ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.

  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Capable of learning various computer applications and systems related to the documentation materials.

Compensation Ranges

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
