As a Weekend Devops Engineer, your typical workflow involves monitoring system health, responding to alerts, and ensuring uptime for critical applications and infrastructure during off-peak hours. You may handle maintenance tasks, deploy updates, and troubleshoot incidents that require prompt attention to prevent service disruptions. Collaboration is often remote and asynchronous, as you may be one of the few team members online, but coordination with on-call engineers and documenting your work for weekday teams is essential. This schedule provides valuable experience in autonomous problem-solving while playing a key role in business continuity.
To thrive as a Weekend Devops Engineer, you need strong skills in cloud infrastructure management, scripting, automation, and troubleshooting, typically supported by experience with platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and a background in systems administration or computer science. Familiarity with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and monitoring systems, as well as relevant certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Docker Certified Associate, is highly valued. Effective communication, quick problem-solving, and the ability to work independently make candidates stand out in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for maintaining service reliability and quickly addressing issues that arise during weekend shifts when fewer resources may be available.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements: 5+ years' experience with deploying and managing Azure resources at scale 3+ years' hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically using Terraform and Bicep to manage complex Azure environments.
Strong understanding of Terraform state management, module design, workspace strategies, and pipeline integration 5+ years' experience implementing DevOps for application teams using Agile development methodology. Hands-on experience integrating SonarQube, JFrog, and other security tooling into pipelines In-depth technical expertise in DevOps techniques: CI/CD, continuous testing, and automated infrastructure provisioning. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate tasks.
5+ years of experience building YAML-based CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins Experience with DevOps CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps (Pipelines/Repos), Jenkins, Git, and Ansible. Hands-on experience implementing security scanning for application code, IaC templates, and container images. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have): Experience with Containerization and Orchestration tools such as Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or Azure Container Instances (ACI).
