About This Role

This teacher will work alongside another co-lead to create a fun, exciting, and hands-on learning experience for our 2s and 3s or 4's preschool classroom. This teacher is responsible for developing and implementing curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. He or She must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. This teacher must also be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide any teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns. This position reports to the assistant director and director.


What You'll Do
  • Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.
  • Coordinate and implement curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences (upon request).
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment

Requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/Child First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Must clear full background and fingerprint check and must pass health screening.
  • Wisconsin Early Childhood Registry Membership

Nice To Haves
  • Minimum 2 years professional child care experience
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE
