Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for aRelief Fryer/Peeler Operatorto join our team of manufacturing professionals inHanover, PAon our new Weekend Day Shift.

As aRelief Fryer/Peeler Operatorthis candidate will be responsiblefor removing waste from the conveyor belt that holds peeled potatoes and will also cut oversized potatoes and spots from all potatoes. This position worksFriday-Sunday 6:00AM-6:00PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspects peeled potatoes and trims defects to control quality of raw potato input to fryer.
  • Operates potato chip fryer in relief of regular operator, including preparation for start-up and shut down.
  • Carries out all necessary daily and weekly sanitation procedures for either peeler or frying area
  • Changes and sets blades.
  • Performs all necessary duties to prepare peeler/slicer or frying system for production start-up.
  • Operates peeler/slicer system to maintain sufficient supply of properly peeled and sliced raw potatoes for fryer operation.
  • Reports all quality or mechanical problems to the supervisor.
  • Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
