Job description

Job Overview
The Data Analyst plays a vital role in supporting district operations by collecting, analyzing, inputting, and reporting accurate student data. This position oversees the enrollment process, maintains the Student Information System (SIS), assists the Principal and Assistant Principal of Student Services with ELL and Special Education data processes, and ensures compliance with Evidence-Based Funding (EBF) reporting requirements for the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Enrollment Oversight

Manage and streamline the student enrollment and registration process district-wide.

Collaborate with school administrators to ensure consistent and equitable enrollment practices.

Ensure that all student records are complete, accurate, and compliant with state and federal requirements.

Student Information System (SIS) Management

Serve as the lead administrator of the student database system (e.g., Skyward, EasyIEP).

Ensure data integrity and manage regular audits to maintain accurate student demographic, attendance, academic, and program participation records.

Troubleshoot SIS issues and coordinate with IT or vendor support as needed.

Data Analysis and Reporting

Collect, analyze, and interpret student data to support decision-making in instruction, staffing, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Develop and maintain dashboards or reports to monitor key performance indicators.

Prepare data for state and federal reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

ELL and Special Education Data Coordination

Notify appropriate staff of incoming students with potential for ELL and Special Education services to ensure compliance with state and federal mandates.

Maintain accurate records of EL identification, progress monitoring, and language proficiency assessments.

Assist Special Education teams in managing IEP data to ensure compliance with ISBE reporting.

Evidence-Based Funding (EBF) Reporting

Lead the collection and validation of data required for the EBF submission to ISBE.

Work with district finance and HR teams to ensure accurate reporting.

Stay current on ISBE guidance and updates regarding EBF.

District Website Management

  • Assists with website management, ensuring timely and accurate updates of content across all public-facing pages.
  • Work with department leads to post announcements, event calendars, resources, and policies.
  • Maintain compliance with accessibility (ADA) standards and ensure content reflects district communication standards.
  • Coordinate training and support for staff assigned to web content responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Data Science, Statistics, Public Administration, or related field (highly preferred).
  • Experience working with student information systems and data analysis in a school district or educational setting (highly preferred).
  • Knowledge of ISBE reporting systems and requirements (highly preferred).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Experience with Illinois SIS, EBF, and other state-specific systems (e.g., IWAS, ELIS, I-Star).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional travel for professional development.
  • Requires extended periods of computer use.
  • May involve occasional evening or weekend hours during peak reporting or enrollment periods.

Salary and Benefits:

  • 12-month position beginning July 1, 2026; however, if the individual can begin on June 15, 2026, for one week of training (Monday-Thursday), that is highly preferred.
  • Vacation, sick, and personal days provided beginning July 1, 2026;
  • Salary commensurate with experience and education - ($53,750 to $56,000)
  • Full-time benefits include health, dental, retirement (IMRF), and professional development opportunities.
