Job description

SUMMARY

Reservationists are responsible for promoting and selling Grand Targhee Resort's lodging, vacation packages, and services while delivering exceptional guest service. This position serves as a primary point of contact for potential guests and plays a key role in creating a positive first impression of the resort.

Reservationists assist guests by phone, email, and other communication channels, providing detailed information about lodging options, resort amenities, activities, promotions, and regional attractions. The role requires strong sales skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while ensuring reservations are accurate and guest needs are met.

A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESincludethe following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Answer the phone and emails.
  2. Provide detailed and accurate information about lodging options, resort amenities, activities, promotions, regional attractions, and events.
  3. Understand and effectively communicate current rates, packages, promotions, and policies.
  4. Clearly explain reservation policies, cancellation policies, and payment requirements to guests.
  5. Create, modify, and cancel reservations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  6. Send confirmation emails and ensure reservation details are accurate and complete.
  7. Follow up on guest inquiries promptly according to inquiry management procedures.
  8. Review reservations for accuracy, resolve accounting discrepancies, and ensure correct charges and postings.
  9. Process deposits and final payments according to resort policies.
  10. Coordinate with third-party partners and booking platforms to confirm reservations and maintain accurate availability.
  11. Maintain accurate guest and reservation data within RTP (Point of Sale) and Versa (Property Management System).
  12. Work closely with other departments to help promote and sell their products.
  13. Report system issues, discrepancies, or operational concerns to supervisors.
  14. Assist the Management with projects and operational support as needed.
  15. Maintain high standards for quality, professionalism, and guest service.
  16. Stay informed about resort offerings, local events, and regional activities to enhance the guest experience.
  17. Work closely with the Front Desk Agents, including covering the Front Desk at times.

RESPONSIBILITIESTO SAFETY

1.Protect the safety of self,workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.

2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.

3.Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.

4.Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.

5.Operate equipment safelyso that itwill not lead to injury to yourself or others.

6.Drivein accordance withthe law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK SCHEDULE

Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends andholidaysand there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may berequiredbased onthe businesslevels.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required; previous hospitality, reservations, or customer service experience preferred. Experience with Versa (Property Management System) and RTP (Point of Sale System) preferred; training provided.

QUALIFICATIONS
