Job description

Position Summary: The Automation Systems Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable performance, uptime, and efficiency of the organization’s automated warehouse systems. This includes Geek+ AMRs, Mujin robotics, the Warehouse Execution System (WES), and the Robot Management System (RMS). This role serves as the primary on-site expert for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation systems, ensuring that workflows execute as designed and performance targets are achieved. The technician plays a critical role in bridging Operations, IT, and vendor partners while driving continuous improvement across automated processes.

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Work Hours Available:

12 Hrs. Day Shift - 5:00 am - 5:00 pm *** Rotating Shift, Work Every other Weekend ***

12 Hrs. Night Shift - 5:00 pm - 5:00 am *** Rotating Shift, Work Every other Weekend ***

Key Responsibilities - Automation System Monitoring & Support:

  • Monitor system performance, throughput, and workflow execution.
  • Own system uptime and performance during assigned shifts.
  • Diagnose and resolve automation alarms, robot faults, and disruptions.
  • Serve as WES & RMS SME.
  • Escalate complex issues.

Efficiency & Process Optimization:

  • Analyze dashboards and utilization trends.
  • Provide operational guidance.
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on robots and infrastructure.
  • Execute corrective repairs.
  • Maintain documentation.

System & Data Integrity:

  • Monitor data flow between WMS, WES, RMS.
  • Resolve inconsistencies.
  • Support testing and system updates.

Collaboration & Communication:

Partner with Operations, IT, Engineering. Train personnel. Communicate system status and risks.

Qualifications:

Required: Automation or robotics experience, troubleshooting skills, system diagnostics, strong analytical ability.
Preferred: Geek+, Mujin, Blue Yonder, WES/RMS, Lean/Six Sigma.

Physical Requirements:

Lift up to 50 lbs. Work around robotics. Flexible schedule required.

Role Impact:

Ensures stability, efficiency, and scalability of warehouse automation while acting as SME for WES/RMS.
