About Calamos

Calamos is a diversified, global asset and wealth management firm offering a wide range of innovative investment strategies. As one of the top liquid alternative asset managers in the world, Calamos maintains dedicated investment teams across all asset classes, with global research capabilities and access to specialized private and public markets. Calamos offers investment strategies and personal wealth management solutions through separately managed portfolios, mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end funds, private funds, and UCITS funds. Clients include major corporations, pension funds, endowments, foundations, and individuals, as well as the financial advisors and consultants who serve them. Headquartered in the Chicago metropolitan area (with offices in both Naperville and Fulton Market in Chicago), the firm also maintains offices in New York, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Portland, and the Miami area.

Summary of the Role

As Director of Cybersecurity at Calamos, you'll be the CISO's right hand in executing our comprehensive security strategy, serving as the operational backbone of our Information Security Program. This is a high-impact, individual contributor, leadership role where you'll own the day-to-day security operations protecting billions in assets and sensitive financial data from sophisticated cyber threats.

You'll manage our security operations center—orchestrating incident response, managing enterprise security tools, and ensuring our defenses stay ahead of emerging threats. Think of yourself as the bridge between strategic vision and tactical excellence. While the CISO sets the course, you'll be the one making it happen—leading teams through critical incidents, implementing cutting-edge security technologies, and ensuring seamless 24/7 protection across our infrastructure.

This isn't a role for someone who just monitors dashboards. You'll drive continuous improvement across our security stack, from endpoint protection to cloud security services. You'll be the go-to expert who translates complex threats into actionable defenses, manages relationships with key security vendors, and ensures our vulnerability management program stays best-in-class. When incidents strike—day or night—you'll lead from the front with technical expertise and cool-headed decision-making.

We're seeking a seasoned, individual contributor, security leader who combines deep technical knowledge with strong operational excellence. You're someone who thrives in dynamic environments, can manage multiple critical initiatives simultaneously, and has proven success in building and running enterprise security operations. If you're ready to be the operational force behind a world-class security program and want to work alongside forward-thinking security leadership, this is your opportunity to excel.

  • Respond to high-severity security alerts that may occur off-hours – including nights or weekends.
