Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and certifications like CompTIA Security+ or CISSP are highly valued. Additionally, weekend shifts often involve more proactive monitoring and maintenance tasks, such as running vulnerability scans or reviewing logs, since there is typically less routine business activity. This role provides valuable experience in incident response and can be a stepping stone to more senior cybersecurity positions.
