The Heritage Community is a residential treatment program for adolescents, ages 13 - 18. Our Nursing department provides psychiatric, dietary, and medicinal care for our students, and we currently seek to hire a full-time Registered Nurse to be a dynamic leader for our Nursing team! We are looking for a mature, friendly, and energetic candidate who can work well with our students and their families to fulfill nursing needs. Schedule:
  • 20 hours per week max, Wed 8-4pm mandatory, flexible for the other hours of the week. 10 on call days/hours per month mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial nursing assessments on newly admitted students.
  • Perform assessments for illnesses, injuries, etc., and provide clear instructions for aftercare.
  • Pour, pass, and chart all scheduled medications to the students, as well as PRN's.
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records of all youth to whom service is provided.
  • Administer TB tests and other vaccines as required.
  • Perform lab draws and drug screening tests as needed.
  • Report to medical emergencies on campus and work with emergency services if called in.
  • Communicate frequently with parents/guardians on the medicinal care of their child - answering inquiries, submitting requests, and appropriately handling complaints or grievances.
