Byron Public Schools is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and student-centered educator to serve as Curriculum Coordinator. This position provides and exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to support teachers, strengthen instructional practices, and and lead assessment initiatives that improve student achievement across the district. ย The Curriculum Coordinator works closely with the Superintendent, principals, instructional teams, and classroom teachers to ensure high-quality, standards-based instruction through coaching, curriculum leadership, professional learning, and data-informed decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Licensed Classroom Teacher (PK12)
  2. Strong foundation in educational pedagogy, curriculum design, and implementation of research-based instructional strategies that support standards-based instruction.
  3. Demonstrated success in improving student achievement.

JOB GOAL

To enhance instructional practices across the district by supporting educators in implementing best practices, strengthening curriculum, and improving student achievement

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills necessary for effective peer coaching and staff facilitation.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement innovative and effective classroom instructional strategies.

  • Responsibility for maintaining current knowledge of district policies and adhering to all guidelines.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the implementation of strategic instructional initiatives across the District
  • Support instructional teams in the adoption, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum
  • Supports the implementation of District-wide instructional initiatives funded by specific grants (e.g. Achievement & Integration, Title I, etc.)
  • Assumes the role of the District's Literacy Leader
  • Assumes the role of the District's Assessment Coordinator
  • Facilitate and support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) by guiding instructional planning, data analysis, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Collaborate with PLC leads to deepen their understanding of effective instructional practices and facilitate meaningful professional learning.
  • Assist in leading the curriculum review cycle and implementation of revised curriculum and instructional resources.
  • Utilize data to identify instructional needs, measure the effectiveness of practices, and guide coaching priorities.
  • Participate in district-level initiatives, committees, and collaborative teams as needed.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendentย 

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: Placement on the Byron Education Association Master Agreement salary schedule, commensurate with education and experience
  • Contract Length: Per teacher contract (school year)
