The Matrix Sciences Laboratory in our Othello, Washington location supports the agricultural and environmental communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. It serves the agricultural, industrial and environmental industries’ testing with a comprehensive range of capabilities and services.

The analysis provides valuable data for agronomists, viticulturalists, animal nutritionists and ecologists to evaluate and advise the Ag Industry to manage crop production inputs, to benefit food quality and limit environmental impact.

Role summary:

The Seasonal Laboratory Technician role performs supportive laboratory tasks and may perform basic analyses on agriculture samples.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform routine and non-routine supportive laboratory activities.
  • Reads, understands and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.
  • Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality and cooperation.
  • May include cross training to perform basic sample receiving or clerical duties.
  • May also be responsible for various support activities, including but not limited to data entry, answering phones, shipping and receiving, equipment assembly inventory and other related duties.
  • Schedule will be Monday through Friday with occasional weekends.

What you have:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Information technology literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Open, agreeable and professional behavior when gathering and referring information to the appropriate member of the team.
  • The ability to listen actively when spoken to and effectively communicate thoughts to others.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a seasonal part-time position, hourly non-exempt. The schedule for this position is M-F, with occasional weekends. Occasional overtime during the busy season. Schedules may be adjusted according to business needs. The duration of the seasonal role is May-October.
