Weekend Creative roles usually involve part-time, project-based work often within a company or agency, focusing on weekend or flexible hours. Both roles require strong design skills and portfolios, but differ mainly in employment structure and work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by a Weekend Creative, and how can they be managed?

Weekend Creatives often balance tight deadlines and multiple projects within a limited timeframe, which can make time management challenging. Collaborating efficiently with clients and team members who may have standard weekday hours requires clear communication and proactive scheduling. To succeed, it’s important to set clear boundaries, prioritize tasks, and make use of digital collaboration tools to stay connected with your team. Additionally, taking time to recharge during off-hours helps maintain creativity and prevent burnout.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Creative, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Creative, you need a strong portfolio showcasing creative content, proficiency in design or media production, and ideally a background in marketing or communications. Familiarity with creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, social media management tools, and project collaboration platforms is typically required. Standout soft skills include adaptability, strong time management, and effective communication to deliver high-quality work within tight weekend timelines. These skills are crucial for producing compelling, on-brand content efficiently and collaborating smoothly with clients or teams during condensed work periods.

What is a Weekend Creative?

A Weekend Creative is someone who pursues creative projects, such as photography, writing, art, design, or content creation, primarily during the weekends. This role is often taken by individuals who have full-time jobs or other commitments during the week but want to explore their artistic passions in their free time. Weekend Creatives might freelance, build portfolios, or work on personal projects, using weekends to hone their skills and express their creativity. This approach allows them to balance their creative interests with other responsibilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Creative Director, the Creative Services Manager manages the day-to-day operations and production of the in-house creative team, supervising graphic designers and content creators to deliver high-quality, on-brand creative across all channels. This role translates creative direction and campaign objectives into actionable production assignments, manages workflows and timelines, and ensures all creative output meets brand standards, deadlines, and quality expectations in support of the property's marketing goals.

  2. Provide exceptional guest service throughout all interactions.
  3. Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming regulations, internal controls, and departmental policies, including requirements of the Gaming Commission and applicable state and federal authorities.

  7. Conduct first-level review of creative work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards before routing to the Creative Director for final approval.
  8. Maintain production schedules, project-management systems, and the creative team's calendar, tracking status and proactively resolving bottlenecks.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional marketing and other property teams to align with the Creative Director's initiatives.
  10. Coordinate with external contractors, including photographers, videographers, and specialty fabricators, as needed, maintaining quality standards and cost controls.
  11. Support the development and mentoring of creative staff, providing feedback, identifying training needs, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  12. Ensure all creative work complies with applicable advertising regulations, including restrictions on claims, imagery, and promotional offers, and maintain organized asset libraries and version control.
  13. Demonstrate dependability and reliability by maintaining regular, punctual attendance and consistently fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities.
  14. Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive and safe work environment; promote healthy team member relations and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
