Position Information
Title
On-Camera Personality and Video Producer
Position Description
The On-Camera Personality and Video Producer will appear as on-screen "talent" in BSU videos that appear on BSU's official social media pages, website, and marketing campaigns. In addition, the On-Camera Personality and Video Producer will also assist with pre-production coordination for the Office of Social Media and Digital Content within the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Communications
Working with other talented student content creators and BSU staff, the On-Camera Personality and Video Producer will be comfortable in a variety of on-camera video roles such as interviewer, contest host, brand ambassador, actor, etc. and communicate BSU's messaging in an engaging, entertaining, and effective manner.
As a member of a talented team of creative student employees, the On-Camera Personality and Video Producer will also help coordinate video and photo shoots by actively recruiting and securing other BSU students to participate in video shoots, as well as attending a creative content team meeting to pitch and plan video projects that align with BSU's brand. The On-Camera Personality and Video Producer can also expect to serve as a production assistant to BSU staff on-site during shoots in which they are not needed on camera. (Note: The On-Camera Personality and Video Producer will not be expected to edit videos, but that could be if it matches the candidate's skillset and interest)
Possible projects include hosting "BSU Cribs" or a contest/game show, approaching and interviewing other students for "Word on the Street," reciting dialogue for a marketing video, serving as an actor in B-roll footage. Examples of these types of videos and their on-screen roles are available on BSU's official YouTube.
Some night and weekend work will be required, with advance notice, based on divisional needs.
While positional onboarding and continual guidance by staff will be provided, the On-Camera Personality and Video Producer will be expected to join the team already possessing a skillset that will allow for immediate contribution in a fast-paced, flexible work environment.
Application requirements: In your application materials, please attach or link to a video of you acting/hosting/vlogging or shoot a quick cell phone video saying hello to the BSU content team. We don't care about the quality of the video (lighting, color, etc.) - we want to see your personality!

  • collaborative attitude and a desire to work with other creatives
