Job Summary:

The job of the Shipping & Receiving Clerk is to work effectively and efficiently in a warehouse environment to receive and ship materials, supplies and products, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation. Verifies counts, confirms quality conformance and prepares all necessary paperwork and system transactions.

Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Effectively uses available systems and technology to ship and receive materials in a timely manner.
  • Verifies material prior to shipment for accurate case quantity, correct labeling, quality conformance and packaging integrity.
  • Works with internal departments; Quality, Production, Client Services and Warehouse Management to report and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Follows established procedures regarding checking in/out carriers.
  • Represents the company in interactions with client carrier partners.
  • Treats internal and external partners respectfully. Resolves conflict in a professional manner.
  • Assembles and process paperwork after compliance review.
  • Verifies receipt of material from suppliers, processes paperwork and completes all necessary transactions including email notification as required.
  • Completes shipping and receiving transactions in client partner systems as required.
  • Follows CW and client documentation and transactions procedures when shipping or receiving materials.
  • Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes.
  • Compiles shipping and receiving reports.
  • Files all paperwork as needed for record keeping.
  • Enforce company rules regarding safety, discipline, cooperation and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.


Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to accurately perform data entry tasks.
  • Strong computer skills, detail-oriented, organization skills, self-motivated, creative problem solving and must be a team-player.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math skill.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees. Also, must be able to go outside to seal and unseal trucks in all weather.

Physical Requirements:

  • Operate standard office equipment
  • Active position that requires standing, walking, reaching and bending
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
