Freelance Commercial Photographer
OWC is searching for a Freelance Commercial Photographer to help OWC create compelling product and lifestyle imagery that supports our brand, marketing, ecommerce, and creative initiatives. Our Freelance Commercial Photographers are creative problem solvers who play a critical role in showcasing OWC products and telling the visual story of our organization.
The Creative team produces polished, high-quality visual content that supports product launches, marketing campaigns, ecommerce needs, and brand storytelling long term.
The Freelance Commercial Photographer will also proactively support the in-house creative, design, and marketing teams by producing clean product photography, polished lifestyle imagery, and other commercial visuals based on project needs.
Our Freelance Commercial Photographer team members are visual storytellers for our organization. This role helps continue to lay the foundation for consistent, high-quality creative production and provides the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of OWC product, lifestyle, ecommerce, catalog, and advertising photography projects.
Are you ready to help organizations solve their hardest challenges through the power of OWC? If so, we'd love to hear from you!
What Will You be Doing?
  • Support the in-house creative team with product, lifestyle, ecommerce, catalog, and advertising photography projects.
  • Capture compelling imagery that aligns with OWC's brand standards, marketing goals, and project requirements.
  • Work alongside design and marketing team members to plan, execute, and deliver photography assets.
  • Use professional camera equipment, lighting, composition, and studio workflows to produce polished, high-quality images.
  • Manage assigned freelance, project-based photography work on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform work on location at OWC headquarters in Woodstock, Illinois, with scheduling based on project timelines and availability.

What You Bring with You?
  • 3+ years of professional commercial photography experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating product, lifestyle, and commercial photography.
  • Expert knowledge of camera systems, lenses, lighting, composition, and studio workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Experience working with tethered capture workflows and professional lighting equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to image quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while integrating seamlessly with in-house creative and marketing teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities.
  • Must provide your own professional camera, equipment, and standard photography gear.

Compensation Structure for the Position
The compensation package for this role includes competitive freelance/project-based pay. The amount of compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, project scope, and performance.
Different people approach challenges differently. The most successful teams are the most diverse teams, and we pride ourselves on providing a culture that is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We look forward to hearing from you, learning more about your successes, and sharing more on the "Other Worldly" innovation here at OWC
