Summary:

The department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Cook Children's Medical Center is seeking board certified/board eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our team! Cook Children's Hospital is a freestanding, private children's hospital offering exceptional pediatric care with all subspecialties represented.

This position will primarily serve the patients of the Jane and John Justin Institute for Mind Health, which opened in the fall of 2023, providing collaborative care between the departments of neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, developmental pediatrics, psychiatry, and psychology.

  • The position will be primarily outpatient clinic work with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests caring for the psychiatric needs of children and adolescents with comorbid neurologic conditions.

  • Outpatient opportunities offer a variety of clinical activities, including evaluation, ongoing treatment and follow-up, consultation, and education in a stimulating atmosphere of close collaboration with other disciplines in the care of the child.

  • The position will also include on-call and weekend coverage with our general psychiatry pool (including inpatient).

  • Opportunities for research and teaching are available as desired by the candidate.

Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required. American Heart Association BLS and PALS. Unrestricted Texas Medical license (must obtain prior to start date). Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Medical Association (AMA) approved residency for pediatrics. Board certified/board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
