Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uses specialized knowledge to oversee residential construction remodeling projects from start to finish
  • Ensures complete familiarity with the plans and specifications for a assigned projects and is involved in change orders that may be requested, as well as the permitting process and final inspection
  • Secures and hires subcontractors as needed, overseeing their work and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Responsible for the conceptual design development and all required construction documentation needed to effectively communicate information to customers
  • Performs accurate on-site field measuring for each project with accuracy and speed to effectively design and estimate assigned projects
  • Interacts directly with clients during and after the sales process
  • Provides excellent customer service by assisting customers in selecting Design Studio materials and merchandise in a friendly and professional manner
  • Conducts cost estimating and project planning
  • Quotes projects and writes proposals
  • Develops relationships with clients that lead to positive testimonials as well as future referral business
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of design and industry trends
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by demonstrating product and project expertise, providing follow-through as needed
  • May work occasional weekends as needed
  • Performs all duties in adherence to Company standards
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience required
  • 2+ years of remodeling, home building, or construction experience required
  • Previous experience selling in the residential home remodeling industry required

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English with excellent written and verbal business communication, presentation, and listening skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required
  • Proven professional selling and closing skills
  • Ability to measure rooms and draw rough plans for designers
  • Must be highly organized, able to multitask, and have a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to promptly respond to inquiries, effectively listen to client needs, and provide exceptional client service at all times
  • Ability to articulate and sell the design-build process
