Position Title: Senior Construction Representative

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Grand Rivers, KY

Employment Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: May be either five 8-hour shifts - or - 4 10-hour shifts; Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday, or four consecutive days between Monday-Saturday. Occasional Sunday work may be required.


Please note: Work is expected to be predominately night shift, with occasional day shift work. Work may be required past 40 hours a week frequently.


Position Summary: Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Senior Construction Representative with a background in heavy civil construction, to support the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) by performing Construction Management Services (CMS) for the Kentucky Lock Addition Civil Works Mega Project in Grand Rivers, KY. The current construction contract is valued at $400m. This position is contingent upon contract award.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Inspect ongoing construction activities
  • Review contractor reports, test results, and quality control documentation
  • Verify work complies with schedule, plans, specifications, safety requirements, and contract documents
  • Inspect materials, installation, and testing of completed work
  • Identify deficiencies and verify corrective action
  • Provide daily QA inspections and surveillance of the contractor’s Quality Control Program
  • Attend preparatory and initial inspections
  • Input daily QAR information into USACE RMS within 24 hours of inspection
  • Maintain deficiency, field problem, and RFI tracking systems
  • Attend technical reviews, construction meetings, quality control meetings, safety meetings, and progress reviews
  • Participate in AHA discussions, progress payment reviews, risk management for critical lifts, and Three-Phase QC meetings
  • Perform complex submittal reviews
  • Review contractor as-built drawings monthly
  • Conduct labor standard interviews
  • Check contractor payrolls for accuracy
  • Participate in pre-final and final inspections
  • Prepare correspondence for USACE signature
  • Mentor less experienced staff in technical construction and QA duties
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of construction industry experience
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • USACE CQM-C certification
  • First Aid / CPR certification
  • Ability to work on-site full time
  • Ability to work primarily night shift
  • Ability to perform physically demanding field work, including climbing/descending stairs and ladders, working at heights, scaffolding, reinforcing steel, and uneven terrain multiple times per day.
  • Heavy civil construction inspection experience
  • Marine construction experience
  • USACE project experience
  • Mass concrete experience
  • Concrete construction operations experience/certifications
  • Lock, dam, navigation structure, cofferdam, deep foundation, or mega-project experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with USACE RMS
  • Experience inspecting complex materials, installation, and testing procedures
  • Experience with interpreting plans and specifications and review of as-built drawings is preferred.
  • Experience with field inspections to determine acceptability of workmanship and compliance with plans and specifications is preferred.
  • Experience with reviewing contractor daily quality control reports for accuracy and deficiencies and performing quality assurance inspections is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 (USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual) and 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations is preferred.
